new times' artopia

April 25th was our lovely Yvette's birthday! What better way to celebrate than promoting

New Times held their 4th Annual Artopia event to celebrate top local artists and creativity. It was located at Bently Projects and we were excited to learn that Phoenix Spokes People was up for a nomination of a Big Brain Award!

This fancy evening had an extensive, unique collection of artwork, handmade local goods, samples of cuisine from local eateries and ice cold beer and handcrafted cocktails to wash them down.

Yvette is a celebrity! She was interviewed by Conscience Television "Internet television network that broadcasts TV programs worldwide, producing empowering television shows."

Be sure to get your membership for the new bikeshare program!

Photobooth fun with our Phoenix Spokes People!

city of phoenix 2014 bike to work day/japanese garden adventure

April was Valley Bike Month, and to celebrate, Phoenix Spokes People rode bikes! The city of Phoenix held its very own Bike to Work day. We rode from Park Central Mall to CityScape to enjoy a delicious breakfast by Chloe's Corner and an awards/prize ceremoney hosted by Mr. Mayor Stanton himself and Olympic Gold Medalist Misty Hyman. It was a great way to see new and old bicycle friends and try out a commute to work!

PLENTY of bike parking provided by Valley Metro

I had a blast riding with the Mayor! - N

After our ride ended, we headed to the Japanese Friendship Garden and it was glorious! It's such a relaxing place, we can't wait to go back and have a picnic! Definitely check it out. xoxOxxOoox

cream tea in the park

We have always enjoyed a good tea party. After Yvette visited her homeland and our grandmother, brother and family in London, she discovered a new, delicious type of tea, cream tea!

This afternoon tea delight includes tea (of course) and scones. THEN you top the scone with clotted cream and jam. Or is it jam then clotted cream? Aside from the controversy in the UK of which comes first, either way is delicious!

After light discussion at February's Dinner Club gathering, we decided to have a Cream Tea Party in the park for our March gathering. It was a success! Our friends and family gathered at Encanto Park and we got our tea party on!

Friends enjoying a fun game of...I don't know what that is.

Cream tea party!!!

Have a tea party! It's fun and makes you feel fancy!
